TBI One Love Survivor Brooke Bledsoe

July 20, 2016

My story is, well it all started when I was a toddler and I was riding in the car not buckled in when I hit my head, which caused the brain damage on the left side of my head!

This damage at such a young age, caused me to start having learning disabilities in school, I attended speech in elementary school I believe it was first grade. During that time, I had my first grand mal seizure and I was diagnosed with epilepsy and also ADHD!  As a child, I was in and out of the hospital with seizures, which was very scary for me getting all kinds of tests run on me I still have epilepsy honestly!

I was diagnosed with Bipolar and depression and anxiety also during my childhood. About 3 years ago where I had one in the bathroom, is when I had very bad grand mal seizure, which resulting with me hitting my head on the right side causing permanent damage! I was told that, the last hit on my head is the reason for the brain atrophy that I found out about in June of 2016.

I am now 27 years old, my doctor told me that all I could do was cry, but the thing I learned is you always have to stay positive and live every moment like it’s your last!
