TBI One Love Survivor Alyssa Mosteller
Hello everyone! My name is Alyssa Mosteller and I am from Georgia.
In April of 2015, I was in a car accident , and suffered from a diffuse axonal injury.
I was in a coma for eight days, but I was never really coherent or aware. One day I just “came to” and began to realize things.
Due to my brain injury, I was paralyzed due to nerve damage and I had upper limb spasticity. I was so freaked out because to me it felt like nothing had happened to me. It’s crazy what our brains can do to distract us from trauma.
I had to learn how to walk again through a lot of inpatient and outpatient therapies. I was discharged from the hospital June 8, 2015 and I could walk and use my extremities. The lord truly blessed me and saved me so I could tell my story!
TBI One Love, thank you for all you do! I am so happy I came across your organization.
