Hello everyone! My name is Kilee, and I am from Utah.
In October of 2012 at the age of 19, I was a student and dancer at the: Southern Utah University. I had always planned on serving my church, but with the recent announcement that females can serve missions at 19 instead of 21, I was try to solve the decision of whether to go two years earlier than I planned. So I decided to drive home to pray.
During the drive it started to rain, and my car begin to hydroplaned. Which caused me to hit a motorhome and spin into a guardrail, at which point the driver of another car struck my driver-side door!
I was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George before being flown via Life Flight to University Medical Center in Las Vegas. There I was put into a medically induced coma to help cope with my major head trauma, multiple breaks in my chest and a collapsed lung.
Thanks to the power of prayers and support, I was taken off sedatives while in my coma, and eventually started to wake up days later to help my new journey begin. My family was told that, I wouldn’t be able to walk, talk, eat, have children, do anything ever again with a 30% chance of living. But the lord had a different plan!
Thank you TBI One Love for all you do for us Survivors!
