Hello my name is Misty Auwbrey, I was in a car accident on November 11th in 2009 at the age of 27.

I was physically fit and attended college at the time, I think that helped with my recovery. I was knocked out at the crash scene and flat lined on scene as well and was flown by helicopter to the hospital and flat lined again in helicopter.

I was token in to surgery when I arrived at the hospital I had a Traumatic Brain Injury including a right hemispheric subdural hematoma including the right frontal, temporal, and parietal regions, and a Traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage, nasal bone fracture.

Part of my skull was removed for a period of time to relive pressure. I was in an induced coma for about two weeks and when I woke up was very confused and didn't know a lot they say, but did remember familiar people!

I don't remember much until about a week after waking up. I was in therapy in all areas, learned how to do everything all over again. I was released the end of December, but continued to go to outpatient therapy.

I stayed with my aunts for about a week or so and them moved back with my mom and 6-year-old son. It took a while to recovery, I still am recovering little by little.

I still suffer from anxiety, depression, PTSD, confusion sometimes more than other times, extreme issues with fatigue and short term memory loss.

Thank you TBI One Love for this opportunity.
