TBI One Love Survivor Nina Alvarez

Hello everyone, my name is Nina. I am a Student in Keller Tx.

When I was 14 years old- 2 years ago, I had my sight set on being a High School track star. One evening, I was doing my running where my mother had the track on my phone to see my routes. But my mother knew something was wrong when my movement suddenly stopped. Shortly after my mother opened up her social media, and saw post about a child that was hit by a car in our community. My parents raced to the scene fearing the worst, and when they arrived they saw that I was hit by a drunk driver, that left me unconscious, road rash all over my body, mulitple fractures- both femurs, knee, multiple parts of pelvis, and sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury in my frontal lobe.

After intense rehabilation and multiple surgeries, I am able to be back in my community and thriving. Thank you for your prayers, support and helping get to where I am today.
